The Reese Group personnel managed the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s (MMSD) Watercourse Inspection and Maintenance Plan (Plan) and Custom Database Application project.
The purpose of the Watercourse Inspection and Maintenance Plan was to provide more efficient coordination on the various aspects of water course maintenance, establish system-wide inspection and operation and maintenance protocols associated with capital improvements, promote safe and environmentally secure watercourses, and reduce flooding along the watercourses in the MMSD’s jurisdiction.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The database was developed to provide MMSD with a tool to store, catalog, organize, manage and retrieve the watercourse inspection and maintenance information. Successful integration of the database with MMSD’s GIS and Application Interface Module (AIMs) systems was completed. The watercourse database system contains the following key features:
- Prioritized list of required inspection activities
- Field access to data from previous watercourse inspections
- GPS location of inspection sites
- Generation of work orders based on condition rating of the watercourse feature
- Inspection and maintenance cost tracking
